FOILED

HAPPY MONDAY Y"ALL!

define foiled: after making all necessary preparations, still finding yourself in a sticky situation.

Alright. SO a lot of my funny stories all go back to one single problem. My GPS. I have had this little bugger for YEARS, and she has gotten to the point..where she struggles. Vivian, my GPS, now does not pick up roads that are vital for successful travels. We ALWAYS without fail get lost, and it usually turns out okay and we make it to where we need to go without any major damage. Up until the past couple weeks. The struggle has been VERY real. Vivian has so clearly been on her death bed, she doesn't even pick up the highway. This week, we completely missed a meeting we had before a meeting...and then were nearly 15 minutes late for the meeting after. A trip that should have taken 1 hour....took 2 hours and 15 minutes. That is just the beginning. So later this week we tried to meet some sisters in a location and we were doing fine getting there... until we realized that it was taking us quite possibly the longest way it could....placing us 40 minutes late from our scheduled time taking us around the meeting spot by a huge amount. Then we had to meet up again, but at a different spot later, and it got lost on the way there...and then lost on the way back home again.

Now you all might be thinking that Sister Wagner and Sister Hopwood are the worst planners of all time and should learn how to prepare for these disasters. Well. We have maps! just we realized AFTER we were lost that previous sisters had cut them up and they were unreadable. And not only that...we took SERIOUS time and how many miles it would be, and how long it would take us to get to each place, and we even screen shotted directions from google maps.. But the Vivian was just so stubborn she accepted nothing and still, with proper instructions got us lost.

another example of us getting foiled:

So Each week were are allotted a hefty amount of time to plan out our whole week. So we have our planners (on the iPad) and we do everything out. And mine of course starts acting funny... and then I look for directions for what to do.. My iPad tells me to Delete the app...Hesitating, but trusting the knowledge of the iPad (first mistake) I deleted it....and went back to the app place with the intent of downloading it... come to find out. HA jokes on me..that isn't allowed... so we try EVERYTHING that we know how to do to get it back.. And with no avail we have to call the tech elders and ask them... And when all is said in done, my app was back...and an hour had passed. #foiled

Although this week was filled with foiling experiences it was a great week! We were able to spend  sometime with the Sisters in Olney! Sister Ferrel and Sister Lee! Sister Lee was in a different area that we covered but has now made it to a new area! that we still cover! It was awesome to work with Sister Lee for the 3rd time in a row! (obviously I have something to learn that im not learning yet!) We had a great day and had a really awesome experience! While we were driving, we passed this guy! And we had the impression to turn the car around! and Sister Lee hopped out and started talking to him and then I hop out and he started the conversation a little closed off to us and the things that we were saying, but then by the end he wanted to learn more! It was amazing to see how as we are bold, the spirit will work on others.

Also props to my companion who forgot that she had to give her talk until church started and her talk was still epic! #getit

This week we also had the chance to see one of our Investigators Ralph, He is a great guy and he was such a desire to do good and be good. When we teach him he is just so eager to know what we have to say. This week we taught him about the gospel of Jesus Christ, aka, faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. We were talking to him about the Holy Ghost and we shared with him that it will be a comfort and guide in his life to help him better understand what he can do to live with God. He responded with a smile and said "I want that, I want all of this" We testified of how it can bless his life and he just said "Oh I know it will" It was such a tender experience to see how others really have no idea what we have, and that we as missionaries have the chance to share that and open their eyes to truth and light.

That moment when...
An investigator, an old man, asks you to lather him with lotion
A investigator just pulls up her shirt to nurse her baby without missing a beat.

QUOTES:
And elder who has to get up and do something to help someone else "It's okay I'm just building walls in my mansion in heaven."

SHOUT OUTS-
None this week cause...ya know I cant give shout outs without mail.

I hope you all have an awesome week and that you all just do as much good as you can. So much pleasure and true joy comes out of serving others. I have felt that joy being out here on my mission and I'm so grateful for that.

Alma 30:33-34:
33 And notwithstanding the many labors which I have performed in the church, I have never received so much as even one senine for my labor; neither has any of my brethren....
34 And now, if we do not receive anything for our labors in the church, what doth it profit us to labor in the church save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren
